Standard Sump Pump with Oil Detection Switch
• We install stainless steel industrial grade sump pumps with oil/water detection switches.
• Oil/Water Detection Switch mounted inside the elevator pit to detect the presence of oil and/or water.
The switch will automatically activate the pump to remove the water. Once oil is detected, the switch
turns the pump off.
• The standard installation requires an existing discharge pipe and available electrical outlet. Additional charges for
installation of a discharge pipe if one is not available.
• The standard sump pump is installed inside the elevator pit and plugs into a regular wall outlet. An
outlet may need to be installed in the pit if one is not available or operational.
Annual Service Agreements are also available - Sludge Suckers, Inc. will maintain the equipment for optimum reliability.
This includes visits to maintain the equipment including cleaning & testing the equipment every 6 months.
Clients on an annual service agreement receive a 15% discount in pit cleaning service when required to
remove oil and debris. The equipment itself comes with a 24 month warranty on parts. The warranty does not
include lightning or acts of God.

Storm Surge Elevator Protection System

Sludge Suckers, Inc. has developed a new type of elevator protection based on experiences with the
increased storm surge activity along the coast. When storm surge occurs, many properties flood at ground level and it is impossible for a sump pump to keep the massive influx of water out of the pit. Water levels flood in, overflow the electronics and short out the equipment. At that point, the sump pump is useless and the elevator equipment is submerged in salt water. It is imperative to remove the salt water as soon as possible as it will immediately begin to corrode the very expensive elevator equipment.
